A small contractor that stayed small on purpose
We are a small remodeling and exterior contractor working both sides of the Columbia, and we have deliberately stayed small. Fewer projects at once means the person who quoted your job is the person standing in your house.
How we work
Most of what goes wrong in residential construction is not craftsmanship — it is sequencing, communication, and pricing that was optimistic at the start. So we over-invest in the boring parts: confirming lead times before demolition, writing fixed prices with the allowances stated, and putting one lead carpenter on a project from start to finish. The building is the easy half.
Old houses
A large share of our work is on Portland homes built between 1900 and 1940. Knob-and-tube wiring, unbolted foundations, cast-iron waste lines, and floors two inches out of level are ordinary conditions in these houses, not emergencies. We scope for them up front rather than discovering them mid-project and issuing a change order.
What we will tell you
If a repair will do, we will say a repair will do. If your budget does not cover the scope you are describing, we will say that too, before you have spent money on drawings. We have talked clients out of full rebuilds more than once. That conversation costs us revenue and it is the entire reason our work comes by referral.
What we do not do
We are not the cheapest bid and we do not try to be. We do not do work that needs a licensed plumber or electrician — we bring one in. And we will not scrape a pre-1980 popcorn ceiling that has not been tested for asbestos, whatever the schedule pressure.

Call or send the form
Tell us what you are trying to do. If it is not work we do well, we will say so and point you at someone who does — that costs us a job and saves you a bad one.

We walk the site
Usually within a week. We look at what is actually there, not just what you want built, and we open something up if we need to see behind it before quoting.
- 03
A fixed written price
Line by line, with allowances stated plainly and a contingency for anything an old house is likely to be hiding. No hourly numbers that drift.
- 04
We build it
One lead carpenter owns your project start to finish. You get a schedule you can read, a clean site at the end of each day, and photos of anything that gets covered up.
- 05
Walkthrough and warranty
We walk the finished work together and fix the punch list before we invoice the balance. Our workmanship is warranted for ten years.
