Siding & Windows

Siding and windows are the building's raincoat. When they are detailed correctly the house sheds water for decades; when they are not, the damage happens silently inside the wall. Replacement is also the one moment you can see and correct what is behind the cladding — we do not waste it.

Siding & Windows work by our crew

What’s included

  • Fiber cement, cedar, shake, and LP siding
  • Window and exterior door replacement
  • Weather-resistive barrier and flashing
  • Rot and dry-rot repair
  • Trim, soffit, and fascia
  • Gutter coordination

Every job carries our ten-year workmanship warranty, a fixed written price, and one lead carpenter from demolition to walkthrough.

Flashing is the job; siding is the part you see

Head flashing over windows, correct laps in the weather barrier, kick-out flashing where a roof meets a wall — these details decide whether water leaves the wall or enters it. A kick-out flashing costs a few dollars and its absence causes tens of thousands in rot. We do not skip them.

We open it up and tell you what is there

Pulling siding off an older house frequently reveals rot, missing insulation, or a previous repair done badly. We photograph what we find, price the correction, and let you decide — rather than quietly covering it up, which is what makes the next owner's inspection so expensive.

Windows sized and installed to the opening

A window is only as good as its installation. We square and flash the opening, install to the manufacturer's specification so the warranty stays intact, and insulate and air-seal the perimeter properly instead of stuffing the gap with foam and hoping.

Questions

Common questions

Can you replace siding in winter?
Yes, in sections, with the wall dried in at the end of each day. We do not open more wall than we can close before the weather turns.
Do I have to replace all the siding at once?
Not necessarily. If damage is limited to one elevation we can replace that elevation, though matching an aged finish exactly is difficult and worth discussing first.
Will new windows lower my energy bill?
Somewhat, but honestly the payback period is long if your existing windows are functional. The stronger reasons are comfort, noise, condensation, and operation. We will not oversell it.
