Venetian Plaster & Tadelakt

Polished plaster is a finish with actual depth — light moves through the lime rather than bouncing off it. It is applied in thin coats and burnished by hand, and there is no way to fake it with paint. This is specialist work and we treat it that way.

Venetian Plaster & Tadelakt work by our crew

What’s included

  • Venetian plaster and marmorino
  • Tadelakt for showers and wet rooms
  • Microcement on walls, floors, and counters
  • Limewash and mineral finishes

  • Sample boards in your own light before commitment

Every job carries our ten-year workmanship warranty, a fixed written price, and one lead carpenter from demolition to walkthrough.

You approve a sample in your room, not a catalogue

Polished plaster reads completely differently under north light than under warm lamps. We make sample boards in the finish you are considering and leave them in the actual room for a few days before anyone commits.

Tadelakt is waterproof when it is done properly

Tadelakt is a Moroccan lime plaster, burnished with stone and sealed with olive-oil soap, and it makes a genuinely seamless waterproof surface for a shower. It is labour-intensive and demands a correct substrate. Done right it is remarkable; done quickly it is a leak.

Substrate preparation is most of the work

Polished finishes are thin, so every flaw underneath shows through. The preparation — levelling, priming, and controlling suction — takes longer than the plaster itself, and it is what separates a finish that glows from one that looks blotchy.

Questions

Common questions

Is it more expensive than paint?
Considerably, yes. It is hand-applied in multiple coats by a specialist. Most clients use it on one or two rooms or a single feature wall rather than throughout a house.
How do I clean it?
A damp cloth. Sealed lime plaster and tadelakt handle normal life fine — avoid abrasive or acidic cleaners, which will dull the burnish.
Can it go over existing drywall?
Yes, over sound and properly prepared drywall. We assess the wall first; loose texture or failing paint has to come off before anything goes on.
